Long time no see! I should have given an update much sooner, but haven’t really had the time and not much has happened since the last update unfortunately. I’ve done pretty much NOTHING since then.

Here’s what I did since the last update.

Nothing. Seriously. I didn’t write or have any content written, I didn’t create any backlinks. I did NOTHING.

Which is pretty bad, but even doing nothing my site is doing better then ever. Traffic is up. Keyword rankings are up.

Why is everything doing so well?

Time + Good content + Strong links = Magic Over Time. More of my PBN links have gotten indexed most likely and the content has aged well. Nothing about this is weird or uncommon by the way. This happens to all websites, but sooner or later I’ll need to actually add content and create links or the site will start to deteriorate.

Webmaster Tools Data

Data above is for the last 28 days. Clicks and impressions are up big time compared to the last update.

Data above is for the last 90 Days. It’s trending up, but not nearly fast enough.

Ahrefs Data

As you can see, there’s been a big jump in organic keywords since my last update. 99% of it was due to long tail keywords. Click here to see why long tail keywords are magic!

Keyword Update

Overall the main keywords have been going up and down a few spots. Sometimes I’m in the top 50 for a 90k+ monthly search term (a very lucrative term at that), and I’m not even trying to rank for this keyword.

Here’s my main keyword

Currently my main keyword is in position #17, but has hit up to position #14. Not bad for zero work. I think 5 – 10 PBN links could push this up to the top #5..

  • Hire someone to write content for me. I would rather write the content myself since I really know this niche, but it’s a very poor use of my time and not something I enjoy doing.
  • Expand my PBN. Haven’t had much time to do this. Have sold some PBN links to my readers and friends, but haven’t really focused on growing my PBN. Will probably add 5-10 websites this/next month.
  • Want to get my keywords in the top 10 by end of September/ early October if I can.

Recently I asked you guys to vote on what kind of content you’d like me to make. There was two options:

  1. Facebook Guide – How to get leads & sales for cheap
  2. Guide to creating your first leadgen website and making money.

If you haven’t voted please do:

I don’t want to spoil the results, but the one I wanted to win didn’t win; it lost by a landslide.

What have you guys been up to?

SEO? PPC? Creating more websites.

Always interested in hearing from others.

About the author

Welcome to Boredmarketer. My's name's Benjamin.

I have around 9 years of search experience and nearly 7 years of PPC experience.

Love Facebook ads and Adwords. Paid traffic = ROCKS.

Even though I'm anti-seo as can be, I still do SEO daily. I enjoy creating sites, and I enjoy ranking sites in the most competitive niches possible.

I made this blog so I can share what I find, and to connect with other marketers out there.

Since there's still so much I don't know, especially when it comes to paid advertising.

For SEO I got you covered :)

  • Thanks for the update, it IS nice to see things getting a bit of traffic without having to full the kitchen sink at it. Exciting to see how adding links might help things out.

Working away on my sites, just some SEO, writing content.. realizing Squarespace was probably a huge mistake but dreading the process of migrating to WordPress.

And regarding your poll, I think I originally was going to vote for the landslide topic as well because there’s a perception that it’s much more achievable for the small guy than the other option, although perhaps if you did a nice guide on the other option showing how you can bootstrap that and be profitable there would be more interest?

    • Thanks Erik. Migrating to WordPress might be a pain in the ass but it’ll pay off big time.

A lot of people like SEO because it’s “free”, paid advertising scares people. So when I was making the poll I expected the Facebook guide to lose the vote, but was hoping it would be closer.

Still planning on creating a quick FB guide. At the very least I can share some nice FB data with everyone.

  • Hi Ben,

I have got you from CL and nice to see your progress (either fast or slow). One thing I would like to ask and it’s a bit off topic here.
You have written to yourself as ‘unemployed’, would that mean you enjoy being hired or you enjoy more in employment rather creating your own funnels and empires?

One more thing you said you have 40 sites almost. All are running and profiting at the moment or you stuck with information overload?

    • Thanks IM MI,

I enjoy working for myself. Running my own websites, advertising for myself, etc.

But I do spend time doing marketing work for companies. Thing’s like running their Facebook ads, Adwords, and SEO. Thing’s were I can add a lot of value really fast (and charge for that value).

I probably have closer to 50 websites now, not counting my PBN. But only focusing on a few right now (That make money). Usually when I find a really great keyword / domain I create a website ASAP and let it age. Adding little content and links over time.

Some of the domains are also used to test link building strategies.
